Beschreibung
This is the classic from which many of our staff first learned to read, starting us on a path of unremitting bibliophilia. Are You My Mother? follows a confused baby bird who's been denied the experience of imprinting as he asks cows, planes, and steam shovels the Big Question. In the end he is happily reunited with his maternal parent in a glorious moment of recognition.Kunden Meinungen
A book of Identification
Datum:18.09.2000 - Rating: 5/5This book tells the tale of a young bird on the journey of a lifetime. As you read this book to your child, he or she can learn to identify many things in everyday life. The young bird searches near and far in search of its missing mother. Both the bird and your child can learn how to identify things through experiences or just sight. This book is good for any child of any age.
Yes, I am!
Datum:09.06.2000 - Rating: 5/5My sister's family from the USA visited us last Christmas, and Troy, my nephew was reading this book. My daughter, Hannah borrowed it and enjoyed it a lot, that I decided to order a copy for her! The characters are so cute and the wordings are clear and easy to understand. A must buy for moms with kids 1 to 5 yrs old!
A Bird's Quest for Identity
Datum:12.05.2000 - Rating: 4/5This children's classic blithely written from an adult point of view, makes light of a baby bird's terror when he realizes that his mother is absent from the nest when he hatches. The plot, the baby's quest for a parent and identity in an increasingly technological and impersonal world, climaxes when the baby plaintively asks a machine (the snort) if IT is his mother. Though the bird mother, identified as such by her scarf and handbag, reassuringly reappears at the end of the book, the reader is left shaken and uncertain of the future of the nest which is the Twenty First Century.
A Must Read For Youngsters!
Datum:03.03.2000 - Rating: 4/5My daughter, who is not quite 2, adores this book! I can't count the number of times we have read it so far. The repetition of the words and the story line are very appealing to young children. This is a definite must read!
